On examining my recorded footage on a DHI-NVR5216-16P-4KS2E recently which have cameras set to general and motion, i was expecting to find general doing 24/7 recording in 1 hr segments and motion separately giving any motion during those times, so basically if i needed to look at footage i could either just view any motion or view footage in 24/7 constant footage 1 hr segments.
What i have found though with General and Motion turned on for each camera is you end up with loads of files because motion gets removed from general so during times their have motion the general does not record and you just get motion, and their for you need to download general and motion together to look at constant footage with it swapping file evrey time motion happens.
Is this normal, i.e is their a way of handling as i would suspect, so if someone wants 2 hrs footage, i would just supply the genera; file for 2 hrs, which should be 2 files only ?
