NVR recommendation(s) for new non-tech savvy homeowners

Hi,

I am currently in the process of moving but will be leaving my cameras installed for the new homeowner. With some general documentation that I will be preparing for the new homeowner, they asked what would be needed to utilize the cameras. My understanding is the new homeowners are not tech savvy so I am trying to come up with something that would be easy to setup. Besides having them purchase a PoE switch, desktop (with large HDD) and blue iris, I am hoping to get some recommendations on other NVRs that may work with these cameras.

Thanks!

While I haven't personally used HiK cameras on a Dahua NVR, others here have and may have more input.

No idea on the Reolink

The 5XXX series should handle whatever you need.

Thanks. I'll take a look and see if it is something that I will recommend the new homeowners to purchase. Hopefully someone else will chime in on using Hikvision cams with this.

You do realize you are setting yourself up to be the ongoing tech support for that system, whether you like it or not.
Haha I certainly hope not. But in reality, I am only writing some docs for when we close on the house. Once closing is complete, I won't be supporting it and it will be on the new homeowners. I am just trying to find the simplest solution to recommend to utilize the cameras that I am leaving. If it ends up being a switch, pc/hdd and blue iris, then that'll be it.

Why you are providing them the cameras, Tell them if they want a All in 1 solution for recording it is up to them.. I would look into just buy a Cheap POE switch if you need to and maybe install some Micro SD cards.. Then offer the Dahua 5xxx as what they could buy or an Amcrest 42xx or 44xx if they want a NVR solution. There is no extra in closing normally for security cameras even when they are cameras that cost 2k each trust me I learned the hard way leaving over 10k in cameras and didn't even get what I wanted because the 8 years on the roof had to take a loss for that even.. So you giving them the cameras is just a bonus..

Throw a 32 ch Amcrest NVR in there perhaps? And maybe let them have a tech work out the adaptability of HIK's and Reo's.
It has a Phone App for low tech users, the notifications will drive them batty until they turn them off.
Which is why I have BI.

And I do have Hikvision and OEM on my 5xxx, 42xx, and 41xx as well. Setup poe is little strange woth no direct Virtual Host access like I can with Dahua and Amcrest. My 5232E-16P is older so newer model might be better with that and way around this is normal NVR and Switch then no problem.
