Hi,

New here. Have a question. If I routed all my cameras to an outdoor PoE WiFi box, will my NVR8-8580RN detect the 8 cameras over my wifi network? (Assuming the NVR is connected to the same router.) The NVR8-8580RN does support WiFi cameras so, I'd have to think (in theory) that the wired PoE cameras will be able to communicate with the NVR through WiFI IP mode.

Details:

Ports 8x10/100/1000M RJ45 ports (PoE, Standard 48V power supply), 2x10/100/1000Mbps SFP, Available with 8-port IEEE 802.3 af/at standard PoE power supply.
Power supply Input voltage: AC 100-220V 50-60Hz, single-port
maximum power: 30W, standby
power: 4W, maximum power of the whole machine: 130W.
Performance Backplane bandwidth: 20Gbps, Packet
forwarding rate: 11.9M bps, Wire-speed forwarding on all ports, MAC
address table: 4K, Port
adaption: Support.
Support Standard and Protocol IEEE 802.3 /IEEE 802.3 u/IEEE 802.3 x/IEEE 802.3 af/IEEE 802.3 at.
Working/Storage Environment Working temperature: 0-40, storage
temperature: -30-70, working
humidity: <10-90%, storage
humidity: <5-90%

Thanks!

Not sure if I understand your question. This is a POE switch for outdoor use. All cameras connected to it will be seen on the router that it is connected to. If your nvr is on that network, it will see the cameras. There is no wifi involved.

Great so, using that in the setup will work?

Yes, I've been using a Cqenpr for about a year now. While checking Amazon to get info on mine, I noticed that the price on the one you linked to is $130. Much cheaper than the egg site.

Well, it lists the 8 port model for $180. So I imagine you got it on sale minus inflation?

Mine was 220 - 44 so price has come down. The octide is showing up as 129. I'm thinking of ordering one of them to replace a bvtech I've got in an old cable box.
