Good afternoon,

I just received the 10x panoramic ptz that Andy carrys, and im not understanding how to link the PTZ to the pano.

The goal is that if it sees a vehicle or person i want the PTZ to go into the area to capture better details.

Anyone have experience with this camera or similar setup?

I dont know what global, preset mean under detail camera mean..

If it is one like this or similar with a 180 camera on top and the PTZ below, we haven't seen anybody here with one yet, but I would think it would be in the event linkage of your 2nd screenshot.

so far it seems that camera can only do human tracking only. if thats the case then this camera will not work for what i needed it do.

Which browser are you using to access the camera GUI?

These cameras, especially the PTZs, are browser sensitive and not everything will show for other browsers. Try Internet Explorer (yeah we know but it is still available)

How to enable native Internet Explorer in Windows 10 and 11:
  • Open Notepad:
    • Copy then paste the single line of code below into Notepad:
    • CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application").Visible=true
    • Save as OpenIE.vbs
  • Make sure the the file name ends in .vbs not .txt, If it ends in .txt you must rename to .vbs
  • Create a shortcut to the above file and double-click it anytime you want native Internet Explorer.

I specifically asked Andy about whether the Auto tracking Light was human targets only and he assured me that it was capable of tracking vehicles. I hope he was correct, as I plan to use my PTZ3E10X-T180 to cover an entry road and cul-de-sac where 90% of the targets are going to be vehicles. I should be receiving my PTZ3E10X-T180 Thursday.

The video below is for the 25X version of this PTZ, but I would think all of the X-Span PTZs would have a similar interface. See if the section on the AI Configuration and Panoramic Linkage gives you any helpful information. It starts at 4:10

oh man that video was great.. the setup looks very similar to mine

it does appear that the 10x version has a built in mic and your version does not .

unless Andy can pull a new firmware from Dahua I do see auto tracking for vehicles.

It does both Human and Vehicle.

You need to watch the video. It is also more complex than a stand alone PTZ. You have choices youm must make on how it interacts with the fixed panoramic camera

I wouldnt count on that Intrusion zone in that attched pic to work very well. Vehicles will drive right "under" the rule at the far distances. Think 3D effect. You want the lines to hit a person chest high or car door/window high wherever you want detection.

Hmmm I just assumed the X-spam PTZs all had the same basic functionality. Havent played with them, I wont buy a 4MP cam on a 1/2,8 sensor. If they had a 1/1.8 I'd be all over it.

I think he had them linked and said the IVS rule was being set on the pano camera?

This cam so far is a let down unless firmware can fix the issues.. anyone know of a better panoramic with Ptz?

Anyone test the Hikvision Tandemvu series?

Other than the tracking of vehicles, (that may be a user issue?) what other “issue” are you having?

About a year ago when I was looking to a add wide angle and vehicle/auto tracking to my business parking lot, I also went looking for a combo ptz/panoramic like you are. The problem is, none of them have good sensor sizes. I ended up just installing two cams: 4K-X (in 2.8mm) and a PTZ5A4M. It's really the best of both worlds this way. I installed a small outdoor POE powered switch that then powers both cameras so it's still only one piece of ethernet running up the pole powering everything. If I had to it again, I'd install the 4K-X above the PTZ. Next time I rent a lift to do some work, I think I'll move it up.

I know the PTZ5A4M provides both vehicular and person auto tracking as that is how I have it setup at night to track targets that enter the lot after 9pm. It's a more expensive solution of course than one cam.

^^^^This exactly!

PTZs are not plug-n-play. Many here have probably spent over 40 hours over a period of time dialing the PTZ in for our field of view and situation.

Add a pano 180 camera to the PTZ and that ups the complexity a lot more and requires much more effort and time to get it to do what you want.

If you are expecting 30 minutes to get it up and running reliably, it isn't gonna happen.

These pano/PTZs are kinda new to the market so probably not a lot of recommendations for any at the moment, and like @biggen said, most here have used the spotter cam option to great success

See this thread on how a PTZ compliments a fixed camera system.

Is that the only area of your camera that you can setup tracking? On my PTZ5A4M, I setup auto tracking under the IVS setting of the Smart Plan.

The combo PTZ's are different. He touches on it, though not in depth, in the video posted at about 4 min mark and then again at about 7:08
