I am looking to replace Milestone Arucs since WD is worthless and after evaluating Genius Vision NVR it looks to do what I need it to.
Genius Vision NVR
Now for my build. I am thinking of the following and any thoughts would be appreciated:
Case - U-NAS NSC-400 Server Chassis with Power Supply
Motherboard - ASRock E3C226D2I Mini ITX Server Motherboard LGA 1150 Intel C226 Supports DDR3 1600 / 1333 ECC / Non-ECC UDIMM Memory <I want dual Intel NIC's for teaming>
CPU - Intel i3-4370 <CPU is free and will support ECC RAM so that if I want to upgrade to a Xeon in the future I can>
RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance LP 16GB (2 x 8GB) <RAM is free>
Storage HDD - HGST Ultrastar He8 HUH728080ALE600 <I already have one of these drives for video>
OS HDD - 250GB Samsung 850 EVO Series SATA 6Gbps SSD Solid State Disk 2.5-inch
OS - Vista Ultimate 64-bit <I already have an unused copy>
My total build price should be right at $450 and I will sell my WD NAS with 7 Arcus licenses to hopefully offset it quite a bit.
On an i5-4570 with 9 cameras I am currently running 3-12% CPU usage with Genius Vision while Blue Iris was using 45%+ with 7 cameras so this i3 should be fine with Genius vision. I also thought Blue Iris was a PITA personally.
Thoughts?
