I've had this issue for a while. I've had Blue Iris support look into it, but they were unable to resolve it. Primarily because they couldn't duplicate it, though I would think that the fault offset being consistent would give a clue as to what is going wrong. What is happening is that intermittently upon connection to the BI server from external devices - hardware "decoders", as well as software that apparently has VLC under the covers, the BI service will crash. This is a very intermittent problem, in that it may go hours or days without it happening.

We have decoders that connect to the system and request different streams at different times to request video from cameras. One device - a bright sign media player - seems to trigger it often. I suspect that this is because it cycles through streams more frequently than the other devices. It connects to get video from a camera for about 10 seconds, drops that, and gets video from a different camera, etc. and runs through 8 different cameras. It then goes dormant for several minutes, and repeats the cycle. Why? The device outputs a video stream showing weather info, along with video clips from different cameras we have around the area.

I know that it is the RTSP conned to BI that's triggering this. I've had Wireshark running on the server, and I can go back to the time of a crash, and it it consistently when one of the client devices asks for RTSP. I initially thought that it might be the authentication process, so I permitted IPs of the devices that connect to to do so without authentication. They are all internal, so no security issue. The problem continued. Originally, when we first noticed this, the machine was running windows 10 on a VM. The system was reinstalled 6 months or so ago on a server - 28 Xeon cores with 128 gig of ram - running server 2022. It was a repurposed server. The problem continued, so it's safe to say it's not something corrupted, I am still running 5.9.0.7 as there was discussion here about later versions having issues with RTSP dropping, so I didn't want to risk that. If I can find that thread again, maybe I can figure out if that's been resolved. As shown below, Exception and Fault offset are consistent.

Asking also whether others that are having phantom crashes are also using RTSP from BI,
