I am having trouble getting pet detection alerts to work on Blue Iris. I am getting the push notifications on the Reolink app for this events, so the camera is configured properly. But there is no event in the list for pet detection. Should I give the code project AI a try at this point?

What does the ONVIF event look like? If you have ONVIF Device Manager you should be able to see it. Or if you can name the rule in the Reolink cam. Once you know/set what it's sending, then you may be able to set up your own event in that same section of BI using the Contains. e.g., If it sends the word "Pet" in some form, then Contains Pet. Or if it doesn't say Pet but shows as Rule 1 or some other identifier for that specific rule, you could use that identifier knowing that camera rule equates to pet detection.

I ended up giving up because I need AI alerts anyways for pet detection on a couple of my cameras that dont have it built in. I was able to get Code Project installed, but the website shut down when I was still setting it up. Can you tell me this is set up right to detect animals like deer? I'm not getting alerts for deer/animals even though I am through the Reolink app

Uncheck the Auto start/stop with Blue Iris, you don't need it, it will cause problems if left checked! I would also uncheck the default object detection, otherwise it will detect a lot of static objects like flower pots etc! If you want AI to keep looking in an image after it has found one of the 'To Confirm" items, put some sort of name in this field "Giraffe" has been suggested! I would also would change Canceled alerts to something other then delete at least initially so that you can see what has been rejected by AI.

The problem was I didnt have custom models checked in the AI settings. I am still getting a lot of false alarms, too many to want to set up push notifications. It is detecting things like small trees as deer and people. I am worried that if I set the confidence level to 90% it will filter out too many legit object detection. Furthermore, I don't see a way to use different confidence levels based on different object types (like person, vehicle, etc). Thats how the AI for most cameras works. Would be nice to crank the deer detection to high while keeping the more important person detection lower.
