Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a POE doorbell that will automatically sync and hook into my NVR via ethernet. I'm not looking for a huge discussion but wondering what is the best one out there. The camera I have was so quick and easy, I plugged it into the back of my NVR and "boom" showed up instantly.

Is there a POE doorbell everyone recommends?

Thank you

I'll be honest that I am not 100% up to speed on the latest doorbell offerings. That being said, the "go to" choice around here has been the "Reolink Video Doorbell POE" model. It is cheap, ONVIF compliant (which means it will work with lots of systems), and has a decent picture. Perhaps someone can confirm if this is still the best choice or not.

That being said, it's really up to your NVR and how well it "plays" with other manufactures equipment. The Reolink model may or may not work well with your NVR.

I've had 2 Reolink Doorbells, the Wi-Fi version. for almost 18 months now and have been very pleased with ihem. They stream via RTSP to Blue Iris. Several IPCT members have used the doorbell's ONVIF feature to connect to Dahua and Dahua-OEM NVR's so it's likely to work that way with Hikvision as well.

Dahua does have their doorbell / villa units. Not certain of model #'s (has been 3+ years since I purchased/installed) or what is the latest greatest, but my doorbell / villa camera works great for it's purpose. I say "villa" because it was designed for villa intercom purposes. You can have Dahua remote screens (upto 4?) to see, hear, talk & unlock via alarm outputs. It's officially not a 'doorbell' camera. But I MQTT to my Home Assistant home automation software which fires off a doorbell sound on my Zooz S2 Siren, which MAKES it a doorbell :)
