Power supply A24-3A

I recently purchased a Dahua 6CE230UNI PTZ IP camera that comes with a A24-3A power supply with a output of 24 VAC (±5%), 3000 mA. My question is both the camera power input and the power supply output are just unmarked wires, is positive or negative wires an issue and if so how do I tell which is positive and negative. Dahua support said "The ridged wire on the power supply is positive, while the smooth wire on the power supply is negative" which cannot be because they are both the same. Any help would be appreciated.

There is no polarity for AC coming off a transformer like that. The DC barrel connectors seem to be sort of standard with positive to the center pin and negative to the shell. That can vary from manufacturer but that's what I've found with Dahua.
