Has anyone found a solution to get both the primary and sub streams from a HDW5231R-ZE (w 2019 fw) into Surveillance Station?
I operate a few Surveillance Station installations with variety of Dahua and Hikvision IP/POE Cams. I've been able to get the Dahuas to work by selecting either the exact or a similar model numbers in the SS camera config dialog. I've also successfully set up a couple Dahuas via ONVIF.
At one of my installations (w 10 cams), I just swapped an older dome Dahua to a HDW5231R-ZE (fw:V2.800.0000010.0.R). As many others here have stated, I haven't been able to get it to connect to SS via the Dahua model/firmware menu options. I set it up as ONVIF, but SS only had access to SubStream1, with no way of live-viewing or recording the full-raster 1080P60. In that configuration, SS gave me an alert that the RTSP/RTP Settings for the 5231 weren't optimal. By changing the transport protocol to UDP, the problem flipped and now I can live-view and record ONLY the 1080P60 stream.
So I'm back in the good VQ viewing and recording business at 1080P60. However, not having access to the low bandwidth SubStream1 is driving unnecessary BW and delayed time-to-display during remote live viewing.
Changing from the Synology solution is not an option for this installation. Appreciate any other advice.
