Problem setting Network Time Protocol (NTP)

I have 4 Hikvision DS-2CD2346G2-IU cameras. They are not quite identical as the older two have Firmware Version Property B-R-G3-0 and the newer two have B-R-G5-0.

I wish to set the time using NTP (time1.google.com). The older cameras work fine. However the newer ones give the error message:

“If the server use domain name, and didn't configure the DNS, the domain name may be invalid”.

Could someone explain what this means, please, and how I overcome it?

Update: I've found a setting DNS Server/Preferred DNS Server which was set to "8.8.8.8 " on the older cameras but blank on the newer ones. Having used the same setting on the newer cameras, NTP now tests successfully.
