PTZ DS-2DE7184-AE Firmware

Currently have one PTZ DS-2DE7184-AE3
Has firmware V5.3.9 Build 151223
Want to upgrade firmware
it’s starting to skip entirely thru playback.
It’s a city camera with onboard storage & been up for a decade.
Can anyone confirm they have upgraded & if so what version. I have found it’s R0 or R7. Just wanna confirm before I upgrade.

Try a factory reset first as the firmware may have got corrupt over the years.

Unless the new firmware says it fixes it, you run the risk of bricking one that old.

I’ve factory reset already. Swapped sad card with new. The firmware is old.
I would like to upgrade.

I get that, but these cameras have shown the can go crazy with an upgrade. Even cameras just bought as someone experienced last week here.

Only upgrade IF the release notes say it is fixing a problem you have. Otherwise who knows what may happen.

And best to obtain from where you bought it because there could be different chipset variations and needing different firmware based on which chipset you have.

We have threads here every week where someone bricked their camera because of updating for kicks and grins.

Most here wouldn't update a decade old camera unless they were willing to buy a new one.

Also if that camera has autotracking, Hikvision has removed autotracking from some older PTZs with a firmware update, but not sure if that one is one of them.
