PTZ425DB-AT Camera, but no AI or tracking options in Firmware

Hi everyone,

I bought a PTZ425DB-AT camera from Empire Tech a little less than a year ago. I was interested in the camera for its PTZ and tracking abilities. When I finally got around to installing it last month, I updated the firmware to the latest one on Empire Tech's website.

The issue I'm having is there is no AI or tracking page. I've seen online that this camera should have an AI page where you can configure tracking. I rebooted the camera, reinstalled the firmware and also tried a different firmware from Andy. But none of this had made the AI page appear. Andy's last suggestion was to do a hard reset, but this requires quite a bit of effort as I will need to get a ladder and take the camera off its mount.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Did you confirm the presets saved?

OK try Internet Explorer.

How to enable native Internet Explorer in Windows 10 and 11:
  1. Open Notepad:
  2. Copy then paste the single line of code below into Notepad:
  3. CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application").Visible=true
  4. Save as OpenIE.vbs
  5. Make sure the the file name ends in .vbs not .txt, If it ends in .txt you must rename to .vbs
  6. Create a shortcut to the above file and double-click it anytime you want native Internet Explorer
  7. Download any of the plug-in the NVR or camera asks for.

Thank you for your help. I managed to open the camera up in Internet Explorer directly instead of in IE Tab (picture below). Still no AI page, presets appear fine.

Does anyone have the original firmware to try?

Have you done a factory reset?

It sounds weird, but many here prescribe by the following:

3 factory resets
flash firmware
3 factory resets.

Those that can get under the hood of the firmware has seen that not everything takes and not everything is cleared sometimes if factory resets are not done.

So for anyone else having this issue...I did a factory reset, actually went up on a ladder, took the dome off and pressed the reset button for 10 seconds while it was powered on. This restored the AI page.

BUT ....after I made a couple setting changes it went away again. The key is you cannot have the video codec set to "Smart" or "AI" and also use the tracking AI features. Once I set it back to the "General" codec the AI page came back.

Hope this can help someone else too.

Interesting!

Most here use General because VMS systems can go wonky with other type of codec, so that is probably why that was missed.

But it makes sense as Smart and AI codec is supposed to take capability away from the user and give it the camera to decide.
