while being somewhat hessitant regarding Hikvision versus Dahua I just ordered the Annke I51EC last week because I got it dirt cheap. And what did I get – the Annke I51DX (one SKU of FCD600). On paper main feature setting both appart for my need are 0.003 lux @ F1.6 (AGC on) vs. 0.005 lux @ F1.2 (AGC on). Seller now tries to convince me I got the upgraded new version.
The discussion got me thinking. Yes, comparing lux values might be bananas and oranges without knowing the output image and shutter speed, but since both details come from the same manufacturer I don't doubt shutter and IRE value are comparable. But maybe the seemingly better just raises the gain much higher and produces much more noise?
Is anyone here knowing both variants or maybe the corresponding Hikvision units and has insights? I didn't find much useful on the I51EC at all.
