Got a few qvis cameras that I need to add to my hikvision 7600 nvr, can I configure them on the nvr or do I need to change the settings on the Web portal first

Hopefully they're ONVIF compliant.

I'd log into each cam's webGUI, look for ONVIF manager or the like, insure ONVIF is enabled and create a username/password for the ONVIF account in each cam.

Do I need a poe switch or can I just do it through my router

Sure, if they're POE cams; if not or no POE switch, a 12VDC / 2Amp (or less) wall wart should be able to power the cam up.

FYI, 12 volt DC cam connector: 5.5mm outside x 2.1mm inside, center is positive (+), sleeve is negative (-).
