Hi guys
I posted before about cctv system questions, however I have managed to fix the old DVR we had, it just had a faulty hard drive. It's a QVIS 4 channel 4BB model.
How will remote access work with this? I used to use an app called XEye or something of the sort, however I am pretty sure the cameras were hacked into at one point years ago. not sure if this was a coincidence or something but a crime happened near me, and the cameras were blackened for about an hour in the time it was taking place and I could have grabbed footage.
Will I need to use OpenVPN for the remote access solution? how exactly does this work? Will I need a separate router with VPN capabilities?
Second question is motion/push notifications on phones. how will they work with the standard software the DVR comes with? would blueiris be a better solution? i've also seen tinycam pro, but this is android only.
regards,
