Hi. I'm using QNAP's QVR Pro, which limits the user to viewing 14 days worth of footage. If storage space is not a concern with that limit, is there any reason to use H.265 over H.264?
From my research, it looks like H.265 may produce a better quality picture in general, but I'm not sure if that applies to surveillance cameras. My question here revolves around the processor of the cameras. I have a number of my cameras doing IVS on the side and uploading images to a local FTP to be reference points for me. I've always noticed stuttering in the video as the CPU's adjust to activity in the picture, so I'm wondering if there is a quality compromise in the efficiency of H.264's lower CPU usage.
