I hate using your typical webcam connected up to a laptop to monitor an automation process for problems in a manufacturing/factory environment - its hard to scrub through the recorded video to find an issue you may be looking for and the interface isn't all that great. Also I need to setup a portable pc, connect up the cam and stop someone from fiddling with it in the meantime.
As I'm familiar with BI, I thought I might just set up a BI server on the work network and then use a camera (whether it be connected by ethernet, or wifi) to record the footage. The camera will typically be mounted close to the process being watched and the distance may range from ~.5m to 2m away. Lighting will generally be good. As some of the processes will be reasonably fast, I'm planning on taking the FPS and bit rate as high as I can go, so that I have good clear footage when I attempt to play the footage in slow motion or frame by frame.
So, my question is - can anyone recommend a Dahua IP camera that would be suitable for this application?
Thanks in advance for your help.
