Recommended Video quality setting for Hikvision NVR

I have this NVR: DS-7608NI-I2/8P - Pro Series (All) - Hikvision and there are 7x DS-2CD2385G1-I - Pro Series (All) - Hikvision cameras installed.

I have noticed that when I play back a recording it will sometimes skip about 5 frames, someone could walk up my driveway and then appear 10m closer to the front door instantly due to the gap in recording. I am using 2x Western Digital Purple Surveillance Hard Drives (4TB each)

My cameras all have the same settings, which are shown below.

I would place the bitrate to constant @8192. Frame rate 15 and iframe to 15 and turn off SVC. Also try going to H264 if no improvement. Hopefully this helps.

If the bitrate is the same for H264/265 it wouldn't reduce bandwidth. Decoding of H264 via a PC or mobile device. I understand is less demanding.
