Recording Audio on LaView LV-N9916C6E

I have a LaView LV-N9916C6E NVR it has a line in audio bnc connector on the back of the nvr. I purchased a microphone on LaViews website and have hooked it to nvr but I am not hearing any audio recorded. Does any one have any info on this? LaViews tech support is not helpful at all .... Thanks, Dave

I could be wrong, but the microphone input on the NVR is usually intended for “talkback” to cameras that have speakers for two-way audio. I don’t think it’s designed to add a microphone input for recordings. I was bummed when I learned this about mine!

Ok thank you I guess maybe I need to be looking for cameras with audio ?

That’s what I’d do. Either cameras with built-in microphones, or at least the input so you can add a mic like you mentioned in your first post.
