Anybody use a remote control for a Hikvision NVR and do they work? All I have is a mouse but want to be able to use a remote instead. Where would you buy one? I've looked and they don't seem readily available.

What NVR do you have? I never seen a Hik NVR w/a IR receiver on it.. You could likely use a 'presentation mouse', which is like a wireless handheld mouse with a thumb ball.

Putting a system in my lake house. I'd like to use the t.v. for viewing and would like to use a remote over mouse.

i have a 7604NI-E1 that is remote controlled using the Hik remote control, it works fine but in all honesty the Hik NVR software is absolutely rubbish and is not designed for remote control use, in my opinion the Hik software is about as good as an early VCR / Betamax player and it is no where near as good as any modern TV or sat system which IS designed for remote use

sadly the Hik NVR`s are best controlled with a mouse or web interface

this is what the remote looks like

It looks like Dahua has units with remotes. I have Hivision and use the mouse. This unit would be for my folks and they would prefer to have it on the t.v.
Would it be worth switching brands? I mean are the remotes that much easier on the t.v.or should I try to get them to use a mouse?

Problem solved. My folks will learn to use the mouse. Much better stay with good equipment and learn how to use it. Thanks for the replies.
