when this unit powers up, it make a loop thru the full range of motion.

has anyone installed it such that it's not able to complete that pass?
IE if it's installed close to a wall or something preventing motion in a particular direction,
does the test patrol detect that and prevent further attempts to move beyond that?

or does it just break?

thanx for any data on this. I have an install location that will most likely be motion-challenged in one direction,
and i don't wanna break anything...

its performing a calibration, if anything interferes with this the PTZ will not be where it thinks it is and all sorts of issues occur, including possible damage/excess wear.. dont install it there.

In the OSD menu of my PTZ (Preset 95) there is an option for soft limits. I haven't played with it but it seems to be the sort of feature you are looking for.

soft limits I doubt are honored durring the bootup dance, its doing a calibration so it has no idea really where its at and what its looking at until it does its full range.
