Same site remote viewing options

Hi Guys

I've got a client looking to upgrade from a couple of old analogue systems to an IP system.

They have a single site, however its quite spread out, they have 3 main locations on the site, each of which currently has its own independent old analogue system. They want a unified system that covers each location.

Two of the sites are connected back to the 3rd site (head office) via a fibre link, these are currently in the process of being upgraded with 10Gb GBICS and switches, so no issue with bandwidth. We have existing POE switches, so no need to use POE from an NVR.

Each of the 3 locations on site needs to be able to view their local cameras as they did with the old system; however, the head office site need to be able to view the cameras from all 3 sites. They would also like to be able to view all cameras remotely if they have any security concerns throughout the night or whatever.

I'd like to know if there is a specific piece of hardware or terminal that can be used just for remotely viewing cameras over the lan at the remote locations; effectively having most of the features of the NVR, but without local recording capabilities. In this scenario I would have this device pull streams in from a big NVR in the main office that would terminate the streams from the cameras.

Or would I be better off to install an NVR at each of the two remote locations, terminate the local cameras at each, and then use something like IVMS4200 to pull in ALL the camera streams at the main office.

Its a bit of an unusual request, but I've not really done a distributed setup like this before!

Regards
Josh
