So today I went to look at one of my DVRs with the Samsung PTZ form long ago I know lol and it was offline.. So checked out the cameras connection by changing ports on the DVR and still no feed, I went and tested the 24v was still there and it was, I then tested the connection with another smaller indoor PTZ that I have that is much smaller and easy to move around and the little PTZ booted and there was a picture. So I know that the Power supply is ok, I know that the BNC cable is still good. I removed all the extras from the camera and only connected it so the camera output and power input was connected to make sure there was not some other issues that might have been causing it to shut off, I have 5 inputs and 2 outputs connected, They were not the issue..

I might have to take it down and take it apart. Issue is that I don't record this camera full time, Only on Ai events and or motion so I am not sure when it went offline. Yesterday there was a storm that went though and while my area didn't get hit to hard there was some extra high winds and lightning/thunder, My guess is that is when it went offline.. I mean I have some same age 37x zoom box cameras that I am not using right now if it was just the Camera Module that won't be hard to fix..

Anyone have any ideas what I should try before I take it down for a closer look? It has been a few years since I had to repair the Belts on the camera.. I replaced the Fan at that same time as it was kind of loud. Because where it is mounted I don't give it as much attention as I do my other cameras when it comes to Maintenace. Plus it is designed to be in very cold weather with heater, fan and the type of housing it was built in..

Yes I know it is old and not in HD type format but it is one of them type of cameras that cost enough you don't just replace it when it goes offline..

So went and took down the camera module first, Tested it on my Bullet camera that is same type of camera module. The SCZ-3370 camera and the camera module works. I was able to use the manual zoom and focus and so everything is working with the camera module, So I know that is fine. To be sure I took the Bullets module and connected to the PTZ and it didn't work.. So I had to take the camera down lol.. It is only 2 tabs to pull the camera from the housing.. Taking the camera apart I tested the LM2676S-ADJ and it was shorted.. So removed from the PCB and tested and still there was a short on the regulator and on the PCB so I went on a hunt and found a Small cap that was shorted over next to the 5v Voltage regulator ST, 78M05 After removing that the short was gone.. So now I just need to get a replacement Voltage Regulator as it seems the others are just fine.. I tested all other items on the PCB and there are no other shorts or opens that I can find.. So I am sure that it is just 1 small SMD capacitor

So to be clear, I thought this was my 3371 when it infact it was my 3370THN and to be fair they look a like and I had moved the 2 around so I thought it was my newer one. yet this is my older model. Come to find out after the fact I realized after doing the testing and looking for parts that I have already repaired my other one once before back in 2021 or 22.. Same issue. After a Storm the camera was damaged.. Because I am cheap I don't have the camera recording full time as I don't feel the need seeing there could be days before there is any motion on the camera. Also because I don't have as many monitors as I used to seeing being on 24/7 they only seem to last 3 to 5 years a need to replace a couple of my Main monitors so I don't watch all my cameras anymore. Right now only have 4 monitors and 6 recorders so 2 of my DVRs I share with my Computers monitor and only switch over when there is an alert if I am there at the time.. First time in 13 years of service that this camera has needed to be repaired besides 1 belt and a new fan.. The camera has a Fan life monitor and only replaced the fan because the camera said it was time to but the fan still works just fine I have saved it for back up if ever needed one in a pinch.. Camera has features that none of my IP PTZ cameras offer with my newest one being 11 years newer lol. One of the reason I still use them is because I can do things that other PTZ I own can't.
