From the online camera help. Note the Auto setting.
"Day/Night Switch
Select the day/night switch mode from the drop-down list. And day, night, auto, schedule, and triggered by alarm input are selectable for day/night switch.
Day: the camera stays at day mode.
Night: the camera stays at night mode.
Auto: the camera switches between the day mode and the night mode according to the illumination automatically. The sensitivity ranges from 0~7, the higher the value is, the easier the mode switches. The filtering time refers to the interval time between the day/night switch. You can set it from 5s to 120s."
With Schedule Switch, you can set start/end times, you get a Common, Day and Night setting options. This works fine. But it's a pain to have to keep adjusting the times as the length of the day changes. Auto Switch seems to promise to fix this problem on paper.
Under Auto Switch you get a full set of default settings, again, that you can change, but it doesn't break it out by Day/Night. This is confusing. At first I thought the fields under Auto Switch, when Auto Switch was selected, might get filled with the Day and Night settings, each being copied in on demand as the illumination changed. But this isn't so.
The camera doesn't seem to do anything but hold whatever values I type in under Auto Switch.
If Auto Switch "switches between day and night" like stated above why oh why are there new default fields to set up under it?
I got a feeling there is something obvious here that is escaping me. The LED lamps seem to work fine when their option is set to Auto, kind of amazing the image setting for day and night don't follow suit.
