I've got some spotter cams that direct this PTZ to move to a preset location when they detect human/animal/vehicle. What is the best way to command this PTZ to go to it's home position if it doesn't detect anything in the areas the spotter cams commanded it to? Is there a built in command within this PTZ that after X-amount of time of no activity to go to the home position? Or is it best to command the PTZ thought Blue Iris to go to the home position after X-amount of time it was originally command by the spotter cams?

The spotter cams are T5442T-ZE that are using the built-in AI for human/animal/vehicle detection.

I can set the PTZ5A4K-25X Auto Home to a preset in certain time in PTZ - Scheduled Task.

I use the Idle Motion setting. After 1 minute it returns to the chosen preset.

I was wondering what's the difference between IDLE MOTION and TASK TIME. Anyone know?

I struggled with that too

Difference is that idle motion refers to just that. It has moved away from Preset 1 for whatever reason and you want it to return to a preset (usually preset 1) after so much time .

Task time can be set to move it to any preset at any time with a schedule . I use it for a mini to force it to a new “home” position from dusk to dawn.

Got it! Task time is just to create a schedule of when and where you want to move the PTZ during a weekday/hour and it's not tied at all to when a cam was triggered and what to do after the trigger.
