Sentry Smart Alert delays image sent via SMS

Hello Everyone,

Looking for a workaround or fix if possible.

I have four Dahua cams that measure motion to trigger alerts to my cell phone via SMS.

I have the option 'Attach current image' checked and for the last 2-3 years I get snapshots of people, cars, wild-life and my dog as the snapshot gets sent to my phone via SMS.

Invariably every night my dog will set off these motion triggers and generate texts to my cell phone multiple times while I am trying to sleep. So I tried out this 'Sentry Smart Alert' feature and its GREAT!!! cuts way down on false positives.

The only problem is now the snapshot that is sent to my phone is an image not containing the person that set off the alert. It looks like BI is sending me a snapshot that is taken once the Sentry Smart Alert is confirmed and is at last 10-30 seconds after the initial trigger.

any ideas how to fix this without disabling the new 'sentry smart alert'?

The whole purpose of receiving the snapshot from the cam is so I can see 'who' set off the alert...but now all I get is photos with nobody in them.

thanks

Marc

you may want to play with the "make time" settings under motion/trigger tab within BI. I did this on a few of my cameras and it resolved similar issue in my case.

There is another thread with a possible answer that I am including below. This may answer any additional questions. Refer to last comment in that thread.

Correct. The screen capture in the SMS is the current image (after round-trip to Sentry for analysis) and not the one 4-5 sec prior triggered by the Maketime which actually got processed by Sentry. Only way to really confirm false positives/negatives is by looking at the first frame of the clip.
In this case, Elvis has indeed left the building. :)
This is a known issue that will be resolved in the next release.

Hi Marc,

BI is heads down on the 5.0 release. In a month, we should be able to get on the BI roadmap to get this known issue resolved.
