Hi,

I have one DS-2CD2142FWD-IWS camera and are trying to set it up with as good motion/intrusion detection as possible, at the moment it's crap but I haven't been fiddling to much with it.

Can anyone guide me in the right direction? Which feature shall I use for this?
I'm surveilling my front door and yard and want small film clips when things happen.

When it triggers and sends email now I get three photos in rather low resolution and with too long time in-between them, can that be adjusted?

I only had a solo camera for a few months before I got an NVR but I've had the least false positives with intrusion detection, second only to line crossing detection. Motion detection threw crazy false positives despite all the fooling I did with the settings. The tiny quality of the email images seems to be fixed, limited by the firmware. You can set the interval of the three images in Network/Advanced Settings/Email/Interval. As far as recording to the SD card on your camera I have no information except just fool around with the settings and see what happens.
