I want to thank everyone here for the wealth of information and contributions. I wanted to share how I mounted my Hikvision cams on my siding. Nothing revolutionary, but it's clean and solid. 4 of my 7 outdoor cameras are mounted this way.

I have clap board on my house so I brought the CAT through the wall, sealed with silicone, and the siding mount is sealed to the house with silicone. I also used the included connector covers that come with the cameras.

I'm using Blue Iris and bp's UI2, there are many quirks and almost too many options in Blue Iris, but once you start nailing down a configuration it's solid and you start to appreciate the options. Getting windows 10 to behave properly required a few nights of trial and error.

Blake,

No, all the cables are coming up from the basement inside the wall stud pocket. Not easy or fun but it looks way better and it's more secure.

badneighbors,

It is Arlington. It's the 8141-1.

Clean, nice install. What mount did you use? Modify it at all, ant info I'd appreciate. Will be doing same thing.

Just Arlington 8141-1s, screw them to the house, screw the camera brackets to those, caulk everything for good measure.
