Signal Loss issue

On one of the sites I have PTZ5A4M-25X. It has been experiencing signal loss for some time now. I moved the cat6 to multiple ports on the PoE switch with no change. I changed the cable running from the patch panel to the switch. I changed the keystone connector. Still no change. So, now I figured that the Cat5e cable that had been run about 14 years ago was going bad, (if that can happen). So, I changed the cable to Cat6 and ran a new line. So, after testing the cable and it shows perfect, I am still getting signal loss periodically. WHY?
I have this happening on another brand new one I just got, not a PTZ but the IPC-Color4K-T180. It is also having signal loss. It is on a whole different switch with brand new line and connectors. These switches are not more than a couple years old and are better than consumer grade. Maybe not quite business grade but better than standard consumer. My cable tests show good.
What more can I try to get this solved. Is there something I can do inside the camera gui? I don't know what else to do.
Thanks.

I believe you are using BI and it can be really sensitive to the newer codecs cameras are coming with.

Make sure it is H264 or H264H and general or no codec. Using AI SSA or Smart Codec or Acupick or SELF-ADAPTIVE or any other flavor than the standard can cause these issues in BI.

The T180 seems to be the most problematic with BI and tossing errors. I have it documented in the T180 thread what I basically mentioned above. Also use IE for it.

But if the signal loss is not an actual signal loss, but rather BI says lost signal yet the video is still there, then that is just it being over-sensitive to the settings.

What happens is that it just freezes. The picture is still there, but the time counter stops. It is usually for around 90 seconds.
I have it set to H264. I don't think AI SSA is on or Smart Codec or Acupick. Self-adaptive causes issues? I guess I don't get it. Why have those things if they cause issues. I'll do some checking and see what is on.

Image in the gui is Self-Adaptive. So, I use customized instead? What do you use? I don't get really involved in the image part. I have so many to take cams to take care of I sometimes don't have time to do it all, but if I need to do the customized scene, so be it. Any settings suggestions while in there? Or point to a post that would give me a little more guidance. Thanks.

Those items like AI SSA and Smart Codec work fine for Dahua NVRs.

It is BI that has issues. Hopefully over time as the newer GUI becomes more prevalent BI coding will be updated to address it.

I have used night/day in the past but thought the self-adaptive might be something that worked better since they had that option. But if not I'll change to night/day, but do I have to go and set time plan settings for all months etc? It doesn't just go by what my sunrise and sunset is? I'll do some looking I guess.

Yeah so self-adaptive will slow shutter, slow FPS, increase i-frames, etc. and BI will have fits with it thinking it lost signal. It works fine for an NVR where someone isn't using this camera for IDENTIFY because in low light motion will be a blur.

Self-adaptive is basically AI default/auto settings but will also change other things and BI doesn't know what to do.

Do customized instead. For the 180 since I am not trying to get identify out of it, I just use one profile. But you could do 2 and then have to set up the monthly schedule.

Do you have the auto restart enabled? I don't get complicated with my setup for this PTZ either, so I could just use 1 profile and I would be fine???????????????

Okay. I have made sure it is on H264. No AI SSA or Smart Codec is used. No Acupick or self-adaptive is being used. I have checked that there is nothing else that shouldn't be on with this one specific PTZ5A4M-25X, but every day, between 5 and 9 am, I get a signal loss. One day 5:40 am, and the next maybe 7. Then the next day maybe 8:45 am. It never really happens before 5 am, but never later than the 9 am time frame. It happens for about 90 seconds. The picture is still there when I look at the recorded video, but it is frozen for those 90 seconds. I don't know if it is just a glitch between BI and the camera, but it is happening and it is driving me nuts.
Sure, it could be worse, but I don't like silly things like this happening if they don't need to be. Do you have any other ideas about what I can check? Thanks.

The only other things I can think of at this point is delete the camera from BI and try again. Sometimes the camera in BI just gets wonky.

If that doesn't work, then try a factory reset of the camera. I have noticed for some reason the new GUI of the cameras seem to react funny for some people with BI until the camera is factory reset.

If it still does it at that point, then I would disconnect it from BI and run it for a few days to the SD card and see if it exhibits the same behavior - rare it would be the camera, but worth confirming it isn't that.

Okay, I deleted the camera from BI. No help. Then I went into the camera and did a factory reset 3 times. No help there either.
So, I installed new Cat6 cable, deleted it from BI, factory reset the camera but none of that worked. It seems to be happening more when the weather gets colder and also about the same time frame everyday also. Usually in the morning hours from around 6 to 9. It is so strange. I won't be able to do the SD card test because I'm leaving for Sint Maarten for 6 weeks in 2 weeks and don't have time for that. I don't even know where the SD card is on the PTZ5A4M-25X.
I may just have to live with this I guess.
