I have a location I need a camera in, and it's just not going to be practical to get ethernet there. But there is a light socket nearby, so I can tap into that for power and then use wifi. I've seen some light-socket-to-USB "adapters" on Amazon like this - - which would work very nicely.

The camera doesn't need to be invisible, but I would like it to be relatively small.

The most ideal camera (in terms of form factor) would be a Ubiquiti G4 Instant. But.... I'd like to have something I can use with my current Blue Iris setup.

I've been poking around, and the only thing aside from the Instant would be a Wyze, but I'd need to do the wyze bridge docker thing, and I'd rather just have a camera with RTSP built in.

You will be disappointed in a camera like that. Wifi cams in general should be avoided due to reliability issues'.

There is almost always a way to get to get a ethernet cable where it's needed so you can run a real camera instead of a toy.
You can always hire an electrician that is certified in low voltage to run the cable for you.

Or a powerline adapter to run the data over you existing electrical lines - much more stable than wifi.

I've got a couple amcrest wifi cameras that work fine and have zero stability issues. Wifi is a hard requirement for this location, unfortunately.
