Update: This was all due to the nut behind the keyboard error.
Disregard.
I must of fat fingered the Allocation amount at some point.

Since updating to BI5, I've had an issue with Alerts only lasting anywhere from 5hrs to 3 days before deletion.
My clips are being stored for 24 days.
A regenerate of the DB does not bring them back.
Any ideas before I do a slash and burn on BI?
Currently on 5.0.2.2, this has occurred since 5.0.0.1
All recordings go to New.
Set to delete when full.
Stored not used.
4tb Purple
100gb free
Only saving the standard BI alert low res jpgs.
Thanks gents.

I'm glad it isn't just me then. I was getting ready to do a full re-install. :p

I have my system set up the same way (new only, no stored), and I'm not having this issue. I'm keeping 200gb free on my 8tb.

But, since updating to 5.0.2.2 yesterday, I'm now getting over allocation errors.

Mine as well. I have repair/regen database twice now and it fixes error, but then comes back.

Not noticing alerts doing this but seems all clips - big chunks vanish.
Happened past 3 days.
Repair/Regenerate fixes it for now.

12TB as new -> moved to stored when full
Stored is 4TB

Clip amount keeps to be changing. I am convinced at this point some are gone.

It says: Clips 715 files

On the clip display in the bracket in middle it says [327] - does it mean the clip sidebar is missing 388 clips??

Unfortunately I got burned earlier and should have read here first - my DB was showing as corrupted and a repair / regenerate wasn't doing the business so stopped the service, deleted the DB folder and at the next startup housekeeping wiped out everything older than the thresholds in clip storage before the DB regeneration had happened.

I'd noticed something weird with alerts disappearing and the continuous clips still being there which is most likely related to what you're all seeing.

To be fair probably best thing to happen to me as it means I've got a blank slate with new alerts so hopefully it will fix the db errors I was seeing as I can't be bothered to bring the video files back - I'm down from 30k alerts to 4 right now :D

I'd noticed errors in the log saying Database: Corrupt or disc error: 8000ffff (7) - doing some digging when doing a compaction it was creating clips2.dat up to over 700MB but then spitting out the above error without ever trying to replace clips.dat so not sure if there's a logic bug in the code somewhere.

There was an update last night, 5.0.2.3. Try it.

@reverend when you deleted the db, is it still in your recycle bin? If so just restore it.
I had a copy of the DB folder but it deleted 2TB of actual BVR video data so I'd need to use something to pull those files back and to be honest a lot of it I didn't actually need. We've got an issue with a neighbour so I didn't want to keep BI offline while I recovered the older video files, I'd rather go forwards with a clean DB to be honest.

The wife is happy as it's lost the clip of her getting caught by the motion activated water sprinklers :D

Saying that I'll give it 5 mins with REcuva just in case :D

I am also having issues as of the last two updates. It started with all of my alerts disappearing for about 24 days. I record in one hour segments as well as use motion alerts. The one hour segments were still showing in the tree yesterday. This morning there were 5 hours of segments missing from the tree but I could access them directly in the stored folder.

Hmmm, I went to 5.0.2.3 because I was still having the allocation error this morning after I started fresh 2 days ago. My drives haven't even begun to fill up yet. BUT be careful, after running the repair/regenerate DB I have lost all alerts now. It appears to not be scanning the clips anymore. New alerts are being saved ok. I have sent all this to support.

Mine showed almost the same thing. I went to the settings and allocated 200G less, just to see. It worked. Don't ask me...

Same thing yellow -40gb even though loads of free space. Turned down the “new” folder by 100gb and works

I ended up loosing all my alerts by rebuilding the db too, right pain

All this started last week when I changed from triggered to constant record after several house break ins in the street

I had to redo my allocation as well, never had a problem before but I updated last night and this morning had a red alert message in BI.

Wiped my drives and DB and started a clean slate. Also updated to 5.0.2.4 and will see how it looks in morning. So far all looks good.

I have no idea how clips/archiving works. Is this right? main hdd is 12tb - backup 4tb...

I always specify a folder.....such as D:\New on your 12tb drive and F:\Stored. Not sure if you need to or not, but you shouldn't be seeing red.

I usually keep the BlueIris structure on each disk just to make it easy in future if I ever decide to split things off again, ie \BlueIris\New, \BlueIris\Stored etc.

I just logged in to update to the latest release and saw that some of the continuous video was showing as missing with blank alert images:

I've just done a repair / regenerate and it's lost all the alerts again but brought back in the continuous videos

Something strange is happening with 5.x for me and this is after having a brand new database - looking in the logs I still see the error at compaction at 2am (Database: Corrupt or disc error: 8000ffff) so not sure if that is just a red herring.

Space wise I have New / Stored / Alerts set as 3750GB / 3750GB / 750GB totalling 8250GB on a 10TB HDD so plenty of space available.

I'll drop an email to support as well in case mine is a different problem - the disk / filesystem is all fine.
