The last few months I noticed my flag light was coming on well before dusk and upon inspection I discovered that the photoelectric control (PEC) atop a 2x3 box was pointed down, level with the ground. Normally it's up at about a 45° angle and pointed north. I lifted it back up easily and didn't feel like it was real loose; it could be tightned a bit but I felt it was OK.
Well, a couple of weeks pass and I notice that again the flag lights were on very early. I find that the PEC was again not angled up. I decided to review some camera footage and lo and behold a fatass tree rat was perching atop the PEC and eating nuts, confirmed not only by nut shells around the PEC but also by a flattened PEC after the squirrels' departure.
This time I tightened the screw at the swivel joint...we'll see how long that lasts. Please overlook the zoomed 1080p images.
