Hello guys

I will be installing cameras for my relatives house and I got a couple question. Does anyone have any experience or problems with installing cameras or particularly the SD-49225T-HN underneath the eaves, but behind a set of motion-activated spotlights? Will it general glare during the night?

As far as I know, the motion lights do not turn on until somebody walks by and will shut off.

Please see the attached picture of the example. The SD49225 PTZ will be mounted underneath the eaves but just behind the spotlight. The spotlight is mounted on the exterior facet side of the eaves.

Yay or nay?

I'd say nay. When the motion lights come on the camera will be "blind" for a few seconds as it self-adjusts its exposure settings. Trying to cover both sides of the house with a PTZ isn't a good idea, either. Two cameras would be a much better, and probably less expensive, solution. Murphy's Law says the camera will be looking at "A" while something happens at "B".

Thanks for the advice. There is going to be another fixed lens camera at the right side corner of this ptz so I have it covered. The ptz will just give the person the ability to pan 270 as a choice but mainly will stay in one target field of view which is the driveway entrance.
