Not really a n3wb, but I guess in the grand scheme of IP cameras, I am. As the title says, I'm starting over. Initially started off with a GE CCTV DVR system with several cameras for several years. The software to interact with the DVR was less than exciting and the footage was in some format that couldn't be played back on the PC. Then, I saw a Night Owl 16 camera and DVR system at Sam's Club (yeah, shouldn't have). Fought with that system for a few years...crap PC software, crap app, just all around crap the more I tried to get it to do what I wanted it to do. See if I can unload it to someone that has to have it lol.
Now, I am thinking that I am going to go with IP cameras on a separate network that has no internet connectivity and try out Blue Iris. I have been lurking around here and have put together a few ideas to try and see what happens.
