Strange issue with IR

Hi there, I have a Panasonic WV-X4170 360 cam which I had lying around on the shelf. This camera does not have built in IR.

I have a strange issue that when I use a external IR illuminator, it does not show at all on the camera. The image at night is still pitch black with the IR illuminator turned on and working.

Is there any reason this would be the case?

Some cameras are considered "full color" and as such do not see infrared.

Or your IR cut filter is stuck.

Ok thank you, how can I find out if this is the case for this specific camera?

Looking at the spec sheet, it doesn't show an IR cut filter and the specs show for B/W a lux rating that is not 0.0. Usually those that can see IR will show a 0 for the LUX rating.
