I've searched and searched but I can't find a thread on WHY anyone needs Stunnel (or similar) in conjunction with Blue Iris App. So, if you are a Stunnel user, please share why you feel using Stunnel is important. Equally, if you don't use Stunnel, please share why you feel it isn't necessary.

I'm on the fence with regard to installing Stunnel or some similar TLS/SSL service, and I'm just trying to understand if it's really necessary considering that our Blue Iris credentials are encrypted when connecting to the Blue Iris server via the Blue Iris App.

Thanks...

I have stunnel to have some sort of security layer since I am doing port forwarding. Reason I went personally to port forwarding/stunnel vs VPN which is much more secure is because I am dealing with Double NAT because of my Google wifi limitation..
