Sun/Shade Cast - Options/Suggestions?

Words aren't actually required. It's clear to see the problem here. The sun moves round and the house in front casts a shadow (between the superimposed red lines)...

Other than relocating the camera, does anyone have any suggestions?

Can you post your motion settings? Are you using zone crossing? Also, are you trying to trigger a motion even by the parked car?

No, I have no motion issues. I'm more interested to know if there's anything to do to combat the lighting. I suspect the "answer" is "move the camera"... but just wondering if/how other people have dealt with these issues.

Having the Camera operate in "night mode" does nothing, as an example...

In the scheme of things, it's not a huge issue, its literally a 2 hour window whilst the sun moves round...
 
Maybe you could play with the BLC (Backlight Compensation) settings, and see if it makes a difference.
 
That would be a prime example of the need for WDR

I'm sure there are better examples but these are the first ones I found googling that sorta fit your scene. It gives you the idea...
