So my POE switch crapped out a few days ago. I purchased a new switch (some YuanLey 24 port POE switch off amazon).

When I originally hooked up the cameras, they worked fine. But stopped working a few hours later. For the life of me I can't get any to work at this point.

Since it's freezing outside, I grabbed a spare HikVision ColorVu camera I had lying around. Plugged it into a port of the YuanLey switch. The front light of the camera went on. Great.

But then I wasn't able to find it on my router, nor could I see it via Hik's SADP tool.

So I tried to reset it, unplugged it, put a pin in it then plugged it back into POE and saw the front light flash on for a few seconds, held the reset button for about 30 seconds.

Same thing, can't find it on my network or via SADP? Thoughts on what I can do here?

No VLANS? Just a flat network (one subnet)?

Do you have a desktop that you can plug into that switch? If so, I’d try that and plug the desktop into each switch port (plug the router into one port too) to test and see if it’s working by browsing the internet.

No VLANS, just one subnet (that I'm aware of).

I also see some cameras show up in my DHCP listing on the Asus router. But when I try to connect to them, it just hangs and ends up with no connection.

Yes, I have ensured the switch can access the internet via plugging my laptop into it amongst other devices.

Alright, gets a bit weirder. If I connect my laptop directly to the BV-Tech switch (so again, Asus port to the YuanLey Uplink port, then from a regular port on the YuanLey into the BV-Tech uplink port):

I can access my cameras from the laptop connected to the switch.

But if I am connected say via wifi (phone let's say), I can't access the same camera I can access via the laptop connected to the switch.

Did you restart your router when you replaced the switch? If not you need to. The router contains "tables" in it's memory to make routing easier/faster and those tables are no longer accurate with the new hardware.

Yup...several times.
