Just updated this camera to the most recent version FW posted on Andy’s support page. After doing both files (IPC file first then FW) I factory defaulted the camera and getting this error message.

“algorithm version does not match please update firmware.bin”

After searching this forum, looks like there are others with the same issue but different hardware. Anyone know how to resolve this?

Thanks for any assistance provided.

So you flashed it with every .bin file in the update? Some of these have like 3 files you need to flash one at a time.

General_IPC have firmware and it should be uploaded first...
firmware.bin have AI algorithm and should be uploaded second..

upload one more time firmware.bin...

ps. who came up with this firmware naming/upgrade system in dahua????
I tried that and also a factory reset after each, still same issue.

Having multiple files to update seems a little weird.

Reset again to factory defaults.
Then Upload the General_IPC file first.
Do not reset to factory defaults yet.

Now upload firmware.bin.
When that finishes, now reset the cam back to factory defaults again.

Obviously you didn't read the instructions in the included README file.
So if there are the 3 bins, you don't need to upgrade the web-squash file?

Really wish Dahua would just put everything in one file and bam... done.

Always read the readme file that comes with the firmware for details.
As one who has dealt with a few of the Dahua "engineers" they don't seem to have much of a drive to make changes we suggest, so don't hold your breath

And it reiterates what many here say, make sure the release notes include a change/improvement that you really want because yes even in 2025, firmware updates still go wonky on these devices.

Once my camera is mounted and performing the way I need it, I resist the urge to update it, as do many here and thus the phrase "don't fix what ain't broke". The few times I did just for kicks resulted in hours of wasted time.

While I would like to update for the animal detection that was added, it isn't a necessity for me so I will wait until I buy a new camera to employ that new option.

normally in Dahua there are only one firmware file to upgrade - which contains firmware + baseline + AI algorithms in one file... other files are for camera recovery over RS232 / TFTP...

but on 5xxx-S3 and 7xxx-X cameras Dahua added a few more AI algorithm in camera life cycle.. And original firmware on that models couldn't accept / upgrade extended AI models (because those didn't exists in original firmware for those models)..

So firmware upgrade is 2 stage - first firmware (DH_IPC*bin file) then using latest firmware You do extended AI algorithms upgrade..
situation like that exists only on a few Dahua lines / models..

check if You really upgraded firmware.. compare firmware version reported by camera with firmware version on Dahua website / firmware source You downloaded...

if firmware is ok then you should upgrade AI from firmware.bin file using camera web interface...

check does upgrade process is going to 100%.. if not use other web browser...
