Somebody left the water running..........

(Select 1080pHD)

Had a lot of rain in the DFW area on 8-22-2022.

This is used as a "critter-cam" and is mounted about 32" high on a metal pole.

It still works, although there is some condensation inside the lens cover. Hopefully it will dry out in a few days.

A testament to Andy's cameras and Coax-Seal!IPC-Color4K.jpg

Here is another view:

And another:

Enjoy!

That's why we say to use Coax Seal and electrical tape over the cable gland, Andy.

Is the area where the holes are for the speaker sealed from the rest of the cam in some way? Guess it must be. I've not taken that one apart to see how it is inside (yet).

I'm surprised too.

That's a great vid to use as a testimonial. If it can take that, it can take any kind of typical exposure a cam would see.

Assuming that it ends up well at least. ; ) Sometimes when you get water inside things like that they'll be OK initially but then you'll get corrosion later. Curious to see how it does. Hopefully it kept it all out.

Some water did actually did enter the housing. When it was opened, some water did pour out. It was not enough to cause a failure, but if it was left inside, it would have eventually cause corrosion and failed. I'll let it dry out for a few days.
