I've got a BI system that I am going to migrate from one server to another. Currently 27 cameras. System is running under vmWare - 16 gig,16 cores - VM config and perf screenshots attached for the curious. It's been working pretty well, and I do AI on 5 of the cameras. I've read some other posts about migrations where target machine is new install, and then moving config and DB. That's the path I intend to take. My primary question relates to the registration and what happens when I deactivate on the current server and then re-activate on the new server. I know that in demo mode that it brands the recorded video among other things. Does it mess up the existing video?
Path I intend to take is install ensuring that directory structure is the same, map long term storage (that's currently on a large NAS) so path is the same, restore registry, and copy Blueiris, and Blue Iris 5 folders to new box. Then, de-register old, and register new.
New long term storage will be onboard, and I'll adjust that. Old video I might just allow to age out where it is, or config storage to move it to the new onboard storage so it remains visible.
Any gotchas from past experience?
Thanks
