Hey all

I just installed both versions at one of my residences.

Im facing some issues where Code Project AI is occasionally not detecting objects (cars or people) passing through a hotspot or zone which leads to a missed trigger.

Both cameras are covering the same area (driveway), but from different angles.

I'll post my Blue Iris settings.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Thanks

Here is an example where Code Project AI picked up that there was a car, but did not detect the person walking on the sidewalk at the same time.

Another issue is that the other camera did not detect the person walking through the hotspot/zone at all. I've posted a photo of what the camera sees. It should have seen the person walk past the residence.

Is your camera on default settings for things like shutter, contrast, etc?

Make the min size smaller and change the algorithm to simple instead of edge vector.

Have you tried the camera AI instead of CodeProject?

1. The camera is not on default settings. I'll post the settings someone posted on my other thread.

2. Thank you. I just changed to 350. Will play around with the min size.

3. I've been meaning to do this since I've seen you advise people to use the camera's AI over CodeProject. How does the camera tell Blue Iris to record once it deems an object is worthy of a trigger?

4. I've posted the hotspot/zone setting from Blue Iris.

Thank you!

The best thing to do is have someone stand in the field of view and draw the min size to that person.

To bring the camera AI triggers into BI, go into the camera and set up smart plan with IVS, then go to the IVS screen and draw IVS rules (tripwire or intrusion box) and then select the AI you want it to trigger on (human or vehicle).

Then in BI, there are a few places you need to set this up in BI (assuming you already set up the IVS rules in the camera GUI):

In Camera configure setting check the box "Get ONVIF triggers".

Hit Find/Inspect on the camera setting to pull the coding for the triggers.

Go into Motion Setting and select the "Cameras digital input" box.

On the Alerts tab uncheck the Motions Zones tab (those are alerting you to any BI motion in those areas in Zones A thru H)

On the alerts tab set up how to be notified.

Where is the "Cameras digital input" box? (is that the "ONVIF/Camera events" box under sources in "Trigger" tab?)

That it is. The wording is different depending on the BI version.

Where do I find this setting?

I've posted screen shots of my Blue Iris options

Thanks!

EDIT:

I figured out how to pull ONVIF settings via the Find/Inspect setting.

For the "Cameras digital input" instruction, all we need to do is to check mark it?

Do we need to add anything?

Thanks!

It will be in the video tab where you put in IP address, username, password, and also make sure to re-enable substream as it will turn off with the find/inspect.

Thank you!

Here is my current IVS setting.

Lets hope I did it correctly and it triggers and also triggers Blue Iris to record.

I looked into the "Configure" option for "ONVIF/Camera Events" button and it says "GetEvents:Not Running"

Is this supposed to say "Running"?

Also I car and a bicyclist just traveled through the IVS zone and it did not trigger Blue Iris to record.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

That should work for your yard and driveway. If you want detection on the sidewalk on the other side of the street, then raise the line up a bit as half the object has to pass thru the area.

Probably a bad password within the camera or you need to turn off ONVIF authentication in the camera.

Post a screenshot of what comes up when you hit the find/inspect, that will let me know if it is the password or ONVIF authentication issue.

OK so it isn't the password.

In the camera GUI, Under Network > Access Platform, turn onvif authenticator off and that should fix it.

You could probably lower the top IVS line to the top of the garage doors unless you think a flying delorean will be coming by LOL

Thank you heaps!

Just turned off the ONVIF authenticator and lowered the top IVS line LOL!

Will report back with results!

Thank you again!!
