Hi, New to the forums. But im in the process of looking at what CCTV system to install at my property

I have an outbuilding (approximately 50m) away from my property that I want covered as well as my main property. Linking the two buildings I have a couple of external CAT6 cables already.

Now I think I have 2 options, either a system for each building or a single system based from my property that has cameras on the outbuilding.

I want POE cameras in an ideal world, and I have been looking at hikvision.

My question is this, would it be possible to have a POE switch in the outbuilding (with 4 cameras) then run that back along a single existing cat6 to the nvr unit in my main property?

Or are there any other options that im missing here?

So the NVR wont get confused, just acts like a normal network ip switch then i guess?

I would go with a single NVR in the main building, allowing to view simultaneously all cameras on a single monitor (HDMI or VGA), otherwise you may need a PC running the software for the two NVR's. A PoE switch at the remote building, connected to the same network will just be fine.
