Two newer dashcams that I wish we could get from a reliable source in the USA

Hey thanks a bunch for doing that and posting. Great to see samples, as always. The front looks good but the rear is on the edge of marginal for me. I suppose it shouldn't completely matter if it's higher resolution, but the higher the resolution is the better the chance to grab a plate, which is obviously not easy on the move in the first place. But I've been able to do it at 1080p, drilling into recorded footage. So I like mine at 1080p 30fps and wouldn't really want to go backwards. Thanks again!

Thanks Shockwave. Appreciate the feedback on the system. I'll work on pulling some video from the PH4 unit and post them. It uses different side/rear cameras and may provide better quality video? We will see!

Hello Razer,

FYI, we are US based and do sell both of these cameras at what I hope you would consider a good price. And we are reliable and recommended by dashcamtalk amongst others:

A118: (we also sell the GPS module for this unit): http://www.spytecinc.com/a118-car-dash-camera.html

Innovv C3: (we only sell the 90 degree version at the current time): http://www.spytecinc.com/innovv-c3-vehicle-and-wearable-camera-system.html

Thanks!

There are a couple of newer cameras out there that I wish we could get from a reliable USA source for a good price. The one that is getting pretty good reviews on dashcamtalk is known as the a118 mostly it seems, and I'm liking this one as it seems to be a very discrete option compared to most of the dashcams out there now, certainly more discrete that what I have in my car now anyway. For less than $80 it seems to be a bargain.

The other one is not actually released yet, the Innovv C3 which has the camera lenses remote from the actual recording/control unit. The early review footage is looking great and the camera itself is really a redesigned C1/C2 unit so it is already a proven design overall, just now with the remote lens option.

I don't think there is any US based distributor of these yet but I wish there were. Someone to handle possible bad cameras is always a plus without having to ship back to china. Out of all the dash cams out there these two are my current favorites, on the Innovv one I'd want the capacitor version over the battery version for longevity in my hot car - I'm not sure if there is a cap version of the a118 or not yet, but I'll always opt for a cap version if I can. The innovv seems to be a slightly higher quality mobius in general, but the new remote lens option is pretty cool.

I just bought that A118C for $51 with insurance. I also have the Urive Shotgun which has great image quality but crap software. I will make a separate post about that.
