ubiquiti bridge to 5216 NVR POE port

I need to 'wirelessly' connect a camera to my Dahua 5216 POE NVR...I've two Ubiquiti Loco M5 s' (Access Point & Station).

So, the Ubiquiti Poe injector's POE port is run to the Loco M5.. and the Poe injector's Ethernet port is run to the camera ( I plan to use an additional 12V power supply for the camera)

The questions; do I address the radios to the NVRs's POE subnet (10.1.1.*) so that I can plug the AP directly into a POE port on the NVR? Do I need to assign an address to the camera or will the NVR do that through the radios?

I realize and appreciate the security concerns...but have ample wired redundancy...and being forced to go wireless for this last addition, it has been some fun trying to figure all this out ~ty

First thing to do is confirm the 2 radios are configured and talking to each other on the bench away from NVR's etc. By default I'm pretty sure they work in transparent bridge mode, that is the link effectively looks like an Ethernet cable, therefore the camera should get an IP address from the NVR. To manage the radios you'll need to configure them via their web interfaces, so having them on the same 10 network is probably best. If doing on the bench, you may be able to use different addresses.

Take care with the POE/power however, not sure how you are injecting power into the radio on the NVR side since that also has POE ports. Also the ubiquiti's have their own power supply ?. I'm not a fan of integrated POE's on the NVR's, I prefer to do the switching separately.

Valiant Has good advice for you, The M5's Loco are the nuts for doing what you are doing. The LAN side of the power injector on the Loco should not ask for power and you should have no issues, just make sure you do not plug the poe side back into your NVR or you might have issues. I do not think they are passive but I would not want to take the chance. Set the nanos in bridge mode and you should have no issues. As Valient said, they should be invisible as far as your camera and NVR are concerned. I have a few POE NVR's that i use one of the NVR poe ports as a uplink to another POE switch. In that case I have to pre set the cams with a static IP and go into the NVr and add them manually with the IP address i assigned them. The all will not show up. I using dahua gear for that setup.

Thank you, folks...the LOCOs work GREAT. At first I had to manually configure the cameras even with the 'passive mode' enabled, but I believe that was a procedural error on my part...having to re-sequence the cameras displayed, I found that waiting for each component to power up and establish a link allowed the NVR to assign an IP
