Have you ever heard of the Universe 25 experiment? A researcher studying effects of population density provided mice with an endless supply of food and water. Their population peaked and all kinds of weird things began to happen-- gay mice. crazy aggressive female mice. Mating ceased, and infant mortality skyrocketed with the violent behavior. Soon there was cannibalism (even with lots of food), and the population of mice in this engineered environment with unlimited resources went into free fall. The result: Full societal collapse in a Mouse Utopia.

We currently have a surprising number of people who want everything given to them, and yet are increasingly unhappy. Imagine that.

Here is an article:

Sounds right. But we will not pay any attention to it.

The human mind and body needs to be busy to flourish. What works well is when people have healthy positive things to keep their mind and body busy like a full time job, family, etc. I think that having struggles in your life helps keep you fighting and on track. We all know there are periods in life when we have extra time on our hands. When that happens I tend to fill that time up with healthy hobbies and such. However, there are some people that don't know how to deal with extra time. Their mind starts wandering and they come up with bullshit ideas like "I'm not sure I like having a cock and balls......maybe I should cut them off." Maybe if that person had more struggles in their life to deal with and fight through they wouldn't have time to think about such things. It's almost like some human beings don't like it when everything is going good. Like when Trump was president and we didn't have inflation and the stock market was thriving. It's like some people couldn't handle such positive healthy things and they wanted it destroyed. I'm kind of rambling I guess, but I totally get the Universe 25 experiment that's posted above. When everything is going good and you have everything you need, you have free time to think up and implement really unhealthy things.

Made me cough out my drink!

This whole article has me thinking quite a bit. That can be disastrous.

So I wonder if this has already happened a few times on earth. There are some societies that have vanished and no one knows why, like some of the cliff dwelling societies. Did life just become too easy?

Some guys I know died very quickly after retirement. Thier whole life was their job. Once retired, they did not last long. Of course, one of them was killed by his wife in his sleep. She could not handle having him home all day, every day.

From the article: "How will people function and interact with one another in a world where hardly anyone works? Can an individual develop interpersonal skills when there's no need to pursue working relationships in the outside world?" We have seen this happen during the lockdowns during COVID. People at first craved social interaction. But after a while, once the lockdowns were lifted, it is as if people don't know how to deal with others face to face.

As the old saying goes:

Hard times create strong men,
strong men create good times,
good times create weak men, and
weak men create hard times

It really does feel like we are conducting the same experiment, and the mice provided an encapsulated version of those 4 lines.

Talk about coughing up your drink! :lmao:

You know, the stats say most women's method of killing their mate is poison....I already don't keep antifreeze in the garage any more. Hmmm....what else can I do here.....:wtf:

"Yes, dear.....canned beans and canned tuna will be great tonight. Let ME open the cans!" </end sarcasm>
