The reason why I never seen it suggested before is clear. Most people would not be running all high mega pixel cameras so they would not need to do this.
but page 63 states:
The receive buffer is generally set large enough and you should not need to alter this.
However for very high bitrate cameras (8192 kbps and above perhaps) on very busy systems
(high CPU utilization) it may be required to increase this to up to 20MB to avoid a buffer
overrun or dropped packets.
