I finally had a chance to pull one of my cams to update the lens from a 4 to 8 mm lens, which I purchased 2 of, some time ago. It definitely has zoomed in better and should pick up details of faces. It has helped me also to decide on what to update other cameras to. Much better then buying a new camera for sure. I am pretty sure I will update 1 more with the other 8mm and then get 2 of the 6mm lens for the front of the house to sidewalk cams. Here is the change made with driveway cam.

Nice... it makes a big difference! You should keep the 4mm for your wide view camera or get a 2.8mm

What camera model was this and what lens (link) did you use?

Also 2.8 outside - Rarely a wise choice, little to no detail and night IR will be worthless. Only value to this is daytime "Overwatch"

Right, that's what I was saying keep the 8mm for face Id then get a 2.8mm for a wide view watch camera or 4mm.. 2.8mm nice choice for wide view to see what's going on.. not for facial ID
