Hello,

I am running 5 4K cameras on dahua at:
h.265
15 fps
bitrate 6144

I basically replaced my hdd to a WD purple Pro 14tb.

I noticed that when I playback old footage on DMSS it has stutter, the same thing for smartPSS.
When I play on the NVR it plays fine. I'm pretty sure I didn't have this stutter before I replaced my hdd.
I also got a new router and changed the IP of the NVR to that router. I tested the old router and I still get the stutter. So I can't say for sure that it's a router issue.

The wiretrip event short videos play smoothly, so it's only the playback footage that stutters and only if I use my phone or my pc to view them.

If anyone has any ideas please share them, thank you.

Almost always some part of the network, or the viewing device itself, not able to keep up with the stream.
Which part can be hard to find

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, although I don't think I had that issue before I swapped the HDD. I also changed the IP to the new router. Can any network setting on the NVR cause this issue in your experience?

Not really. If the NVR plays it fine its beyond the NVR to your viewing device.
If its going through the router thats the first place to look. A full 4K stream is substantial data. HD couldnt be an issue again if it plays fine on the NVR

Im not a fan of h.265, poorly implemented and saves little and causes other issues.

I run 16,384 and 30fps on my 4K cams.

I do get some choppiness on direct playback on occasion on my laptop with the 4K cams, usually its when the object is crossing where IVS rules are as these are actually separate recordings.

Once I download a clip though its usually smooth

(Full screen and sound are great)

Nice view. Thanks for the information, I'm going to try h.264 and see how it goes.
